Day 33: Sat 20 Jan – Weetangera

13-40 degC, hot and dry again

Our day started after breakfast with a 56km ride out to Tuggeranong, just because we could!  Never mind the heat though.  We left at 8am with Bob Barb and it was still quite cool so it was a very nice ride. An hour later we were having coffee and the biggest muffins ever at Tuggeranong.  We probably lingered a little too long as it was quite warm on our way home (Greg didn’t think so); 34 degC when we started and 38 degC when we arrived back home.  Yes, it was a dry heat, but you still sweat, you just don’t know how much as it dries almost instantly.  Wendy’s legs were a tad tired for the last 10km or so, however, as evidenced by the elevation profile, it was all uphill!

It was midday by the time we got home, and Wendy was too buggered to make lunch, so we had an LLD instead and then had lunch.  By this time, it was 40 degC!  Wendy decided she needed to have a little time inside the house which has an evaporative cooling system operating and it was beaaauuutiiiiifuuuuul!  Greg decided to fix the downstairs toilet door which didn’t close properly, and after completing that task sat in front of the TV watching tennis whilst the temperature dropped outside.  Dale, Suz and family went to friends for dinner so we had the house to ourselves for a while.
