Day 21: Mon 8 Jan – Denhams Beach to Weetangera

 Drive: 162 km

A little cooler than yesterday

After an early morning ride for each of us and an early mornos with the folks, we left Denhams Beach about 10:30am. There was a bit of traffic but nothing that we held up for too long by going slowly up the range.  After our last experience in Braidwood with the pies, we decided to drive straight through and stopped at Bungendore instead.  As we had not stopped here for ages, we parked and took a slow wander through the streets and various shops; the most interesting being the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery. We found a cafĂ© shortly after and had a chicken and avo focaccia each which was much nicer than the pie in Braidwood.  About an hour after stopping, we were on our way again.

We arrived at our ‘free camp’ in the Canberra suburb of Weetangera about 2:30pm and promptly set up. We are very lucky to have family in Canberra who are willing to have trailer trash camp in their front yard – thanks Dale, Suz, Jo, Carla and Henry.

We cooked our own dinner but ate with Dale and Suz.  It wasn’t a late night.
