13-36 degC, getting warmer!
We both opted for a walk around the Reserve at the back of where Dale and Suz live – The Pinnacle Nature Reserve. It was quite fresh when we started out, but with all the hiking up the hills we did, we soon warmed up. 6km later we were home having breakfast.
We used the truck as our means of transport today. We took a drive out to Fyshwick to the caravan and 4WD shop to get two new rods for our stabiliser system; alas they sold the last four yesterday (allegedly!). So, what does one do when you have no luck in a caravan shop, you go to a bicycle shop, where else?! We stopped at Pushys just because you are not allowed to see a bike shop and not go in it (Greg’s words). Nothing was procured and we moved on to Anaconda as we needed a small’ish, lightweight and simple to erect table. Saw a few possibilities but moved onto BCF where there were was one more possibility. Still nothing was bought. By that time, we were both quite hungry so drove to Majura Park Shopping Centre, near the airport, for lunch.
Bellies
full we took a stroll through the centre and went into BIGW just on the off
chance they might have a table that suited our needs. So, although it is not a small and simple to put
up as Gunther and Yvonne’s, it will do the trick. Saved $20 – bargain!!
Last stop for the day was at the Defence Clothing Store at ADFA as they have the best socks and unpadded bike pants and very reasonable prices. However, due to the recent cadet intake, they were closed to issue stuff to the newbies. Bugger!
Had
an LLD followed by afternoon tea and reading of books. We had dinner with Phil and Sandy at Laziza
House – an Indian restaurant in Melba.
Whilst the meals were just as plentiful, they were perhaps not as nice
as we remembered them. Fed the worms
though.
Nice looking trees on The Pinnacle
