Day 22: Tue 9 Jan – Weetangera

Cool to warm to afternoon storms

Due to early rain predicted, we had a late start and after breakfast set out on the bikes to ride around Lake Burley Griffin.  We met up with padre Phil at the Arboretum and shortly after, the rear gear cable on Wendy’s bike decided it had had enough so snapped.  Unfortunately, Wendy was in top gear on the back, but was fortunately in granny gear on the front so was able to make it (just) into the city to the nearest bike shop and $30 later had a new cable.  We were intending to continue along the lake to get home, however, it was almost 11am by this time so went around the city and AIS and were home just after midday. After lunch and an LLD it was time to put the pork roast on for dinner.

Despite the ominous looking radar, we escaped with only a little rain, and some high winds.

We all ate together and were in bed after 10pm – late for us.
